The First Footage From Aquaman 2 Looks Wild


This week, the superhero fandom will finally return to the ocean. Warner Bros. has just announced that Thursday, September 14 will bring the first trailer for

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the long-awaited follow-up to James Wan’s 2018 billion-dollar hit, Aquaman. You don’t need to wait so long to get a glimpse of the film. A teaser for the trailer is here with your first look at the film.Spoilers of the Week March 7-11

and it just looks wild. The first film was colorful, energetic and cheesy, but it still became a hit. Aquaman & the Lost Kingdom opens on December 20. Here’s a first look. Here’s what Warner Bros has to say about it. Black Manta will do anything to bring Aquaman to his knees, despite the fact that he failed to defeat Aquaman in the past. Black Manta, wielding his mythic Black Trident and unleashing an ancient, malevolent power, is now more powerful than ever. Aquaman’s imprisoned older brother Orm will form an unlikely alliance with him to defeat the villain. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

Jason Momoa stars as Aquaman, as do Patrick Wilson as Orm, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin. James Wan is the director of a script written by David Leslie Johnson McGoldrick. The story was created by Wan, Johnson, and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, as well as Jason Momoa. Want more io9 News?
