Oh boy. After watching Black Adam, and Shazam : Fury of the Godsyou got the impression that DC was at a turning point. Maybe, just maybe The flash will be the film that turns the tide. The film seemed to have both a lot of positives and negatives. When it finally came out, the negatives ate up the positives. After what seemed like an effective promotional campaign, it was a huge financial failure.

Then, a few months later, despite solid buzz and great reviews, Blue Beetle came out and did okay, but not nearly as well as most would have hoped. James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe seems to be coming just in time.
