Samsung’s Mid-Range FE Line Returns With S23 Phones and Tab S9 Tablets


After taking a year off to regroup on its mid-range offerings, Samsung is reinvigorating its Fan Edition line by announcing its plans to offer cheaper and somewhat pared-down versions of its mainline Galaxy S23 phone, Tab S9 tablet, and Galaxy earbuds.

If you thought there weren’t enough phone announcements in the past month, Samsung’s new slate includes a Galaxy S23 FE phone, as well as redesigned Tab S9 and S9 FE+ tablets. The announcement is just in time for

Google to announce the release of its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 pro. , which had the unfortunate timing of releasing shortly before Samsung unveiled its S22 lineup. The S21 FE was not a bad phone, but users were warned to expect a CPU from a previous generation. This is a step below the S23 mainline, which uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Other mid-range phones like the

The new FE has a triple-camera array, with a 50-MP main sensor, a 12-MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8-MP The FE’s primary sensor is the same size as the S23 main camera and has the exact same focal length. The Fan Edition models aren’t as large, but they still offer a lot of bang for the buck. The tablet is available with 6GB or even 8GB of RAM. Storage options are 128GB and 256GB. The screen can be adjusted from 48 to 90Hz. This is a significant step down compared to the 120Hz to 60Hz of the Tab S9.
