Jujutsu Kaisen Returns With a Deadly Endgame

Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season has been airing since July, and its first batch of episodes focused on then-young Jujutsu Sorcerers Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. Those flashback episodes highlighted how close the pair were and the mission that ultimately drove them apart to being on opposite sides as seen throughout the show’s original season and last year’s Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie.

With the table setting now done, and after a few weeks off the air, the show is returning back to the present day. The villains of the first season were always mentioning Shibuya in their plans to defeat Gojo and bring back Sukuna’s full power. (Also, part of this plan?) Hanami and Jogo have a tendency to kill everyone they see. The Shibuya Incident arc found in Gege Akutami’s manga has been hyped to hell and back by Kaisen fans, and is basically the point where the story truly begins.

Jujutsu 0 had the same effect in its third act. But it’s a bit more intense here because Yuji has joined his friends Megumi and Nobara Fushiguro as well as others such Panda, Maki and Inumaki. They all look as slick and slick-looking as ever. It’s a shame they’re about to go through hell in the next 18 episodes. Crunchyroll will be re-airing the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen on August 31. Want more io9 News? Check out when to expect the latest
