Hurricane Idalia drenches Florida, Georgia; DeSantis says no fatalities confirmed: live updates

The storm is currently over Georgia, heading for the Carolinas. It hit land with winds of up to 125 mph. Some areas have gotten as much as 10 inches of rain and a 15-foot storm surge, according to FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell.

Storm surge impacts are expected to affect the Gulf Coast of Florida through Wednesday evening.
